Les Klien (Animator)
I've always been a fan of the old traditional cell animation. One of my favorite old-school classic cartoons is Wood Woodpecker.
Close friends of mine knew Les Kline who was an animator for Walter Lantz Productions. She had asked him to create a drawing of Woody and me. I was in the Army at the time. The drawing is now framed and hanging on one of my "geek walls". I had the pleasure of meeting Les. It was interesting talking with him. |
Stan Lee & I.
Stan Lee (Marvel Comics)
Spiderman has always been one of my favorite superheros. What I like about this character is that Peter Parker (it's not that we share the same last name...lol)/Spiderman is just an average, everyday day person who gains super abilities. He's just a "nerd" trying to make through life on a regular basis. Then, to top it off dealing with obtaining powers and learning the overwhelming responsibility of using the powers for the greater good.
I did a painting of Spiderman years ago. While working at an art themed restaurant on City Walk next to Universal Studios (California) I had the pleasure of meeting one of my inspirations, Stan Lee. I spent a good deal of time talking with him. He provided me with a lot of great tips, ticks and advise. He also loved my painting and autographed it. I was so honored and in geek heaven.

- I work at one of the Lowes stores in Santa Clarita, CA. Robert Patrick owns a Harley Davidson Motorcycle shop near my store. He came in one day to purchase a few things.
Kevin and Tracy Thompson - Ewok, "Return of the Jedi"
A couple that comes into Lowes frequently are Kevin and Tracy Thompson. Kevin portrayed an Ewok in Star Wars: Return of the Jedi. Of course, I recognize Kevin right away. Tracy wrote a book about Kevin's time during the production of Jedi. I was Geeking out inside when I met them.... of course. I bought the book and they signed it for me.
